Job Summary
He/she is to support the Head of Asset Operations in overseeing the daily management of all investee companies/assets of Africa Plus Partners. He/she will do this by implementing the Firm's investment strategies as they relate to efficient management of asset operations.
Job Details
- Oversee the daily management of investment portfolios for APP’s assets.
- Create reports on investment performance and activity.
- Determining and working within minimal acceptable risk levels for investee companies based on time frames, risk preferences, return expectations, and market conditions.
- Managing vendors and ensuring that obligations are paid as and when due.
- Managing monthly budget for each investee company and ensuring that monthly expenses do not exceed budgeted limit.
- Preparing and updating monthly budget trackers and ensuring prompt availability on demand.
- Managing relationships with banks across investee companies and ensuring that instructions are followed up for prompt processing.
- Managing relationships with CEOs and COOs of investee companies and ensuring that project operations are implemented in line with APP’s investment policy and strategies.
- Following up on other departments in APP to ensure that statutory documents and licenses that affect continuing operations of investee companies such as Audited financials, TCC, and returns are filed as and when due.
- Supervises the construction of assets from inception till drawdown and oversees the recruitment of key personnel for the assets.
- Keeps up to date and supports investee/ operational asset market research and analysis efforts into uncovering both global and local macroeconomic trends, with the aim of applying this knowledge to managing the portfolio of companies.
- Liaises with the Firm’s internal management team leads in coordinating activities at the portfolio companies.
- Ensures the Management team of portfolio companies has current and high-quality information to enable them to manage the performance and outputs of delivery and capability teams.
- Supports internal and external counsel, ensuring that appropriate legal documentation is efficiently and successfully concluded for all portfolio companies.
**Frequent travel may be required, as the need arises.
Requirements
Qualification(s) & Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related fields.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification will be an added advantage.
- Master’s Degree in Operations Management or MBA in General Management / Operations Management from a reputable business school will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of Contract procedure, bid packaging as well as contractor/vendor selection.
- A minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in conglomerate business within an operations Management context.
- Infrastructure/ project operations management experience or attained level at a reputable company with a global outlook.
- Experience within a corporate banking environment would be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certification (ICAN/ACCA or its equivalent) will be an added advantage.

- Good working knowledge of the syndicated loan and project finance markets and the corresponding products.
- High level of thoroughness and attention to detail. The preferred candidate must be detail-oriented, and meticulous by nature.
