Job Summary
This role will oversee the Company’s finance and accounting operations and provide oversight across financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, revenue monitoring, statutory compliance, and internal controls. The role is also responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with regulatory and corporate reporting requirements. The successful candidate will also support business performance through financial analysis, operational reporting, and strategic financial insights
Job Details
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the Company.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of financial transactions and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Monitor revenue, receivables, collections, and payment processes.
- Support cash flow planning and treasury management activities.
- Review and process payments in line with approved policies and internal controls.
- Ensure timely statutory remittances including taxes, pensions, and other regulatory obligations.
- Monitor operational expenditures and support cost optimization initiatives
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare management reports to support decision-making.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations.
- Provide financial insights on operational and commercial performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support process improvement initiatives across finance operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is required.
- 4-6 years’ of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within power sector
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, treasury operations, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
